I have always considered myself to be someone who is "Artsy." Even as a child I loved participating in the Arts whether it be Fine Arts, Dance or Music. After being enrolled in Ballet for over 8 years, I really developed a deeper appreciation for the Dance and Classical Music. That's why it was really no surprise that I attended Ryerson University and earned my Honors Degree in Arts & Contemporary Studies. However, Interior Design & Home Staging was an area that I didn't realize I had a knack for until after I was married and became a home owner. Most people move into a house that is empty with little to no sentimental ties. But, my experience was quite the opposite!
I moved into a house still full of furniture, about 10 years of accumulated dust and childhood memories from my husband. What was even more fascinating than that, the house holds memories of my father-in-laws childhood, and my husbands grandfathers childhood too. In fact, it goes back way further than that. We are the 7th generation of Bragg's to live in this house and on this farm. However, this house had been occupied by men only, for quite a few years when I moved in and it was in desperate need of some TLC. The core structure and layout of the house was beautiful, however you couldn't see it for the clutter. In the beginning I didn't really know what to do or how to go about fixing this house, but room after room this house was coming back to life. I thought my toughest critiques would be my husbands family who had lived here in previous decades. But, when they would come and visit they were delighted at the transformations I was making. In fact, they were the one's who really pushed me to go into decorating. At first I was hesitant, but after a while I began to think, "If I can do this to a house of this state, I can do this to any new house." I have had to deal with unusually high ceilings, walls that were not straight, wallpaper that refused to come off, floors that had been glued down, wood paneling, uneven flooring and not to mention extremely out of date decor. Believe me when I say, I have dealt with it all!
What I hope to bring to my clients by showcasing my life in the country and my business Bragg Worthy Décor, is the ability for people and future clients to get to know me before they invite me into their home. Here you can see the work I have completed in the past, check out before and afters, and also follow me as I take on new decorating projects. I am young and energetic and have a passion for bringing houses to life. I have tons of experience decorating my own home and would treat any clients home like it was my own. If you are concerned about price,as redoing a room or home can become very expensive, I have many tricks up my sleeve that will make your home look like brand new for a fraction of the price. In addition, one of my best friends Christina Purich, has been working in Interior Design & Home Staging for a couple years, under her own business: Pure Rich Designs. I look forward to tackling some projects as a partnership with her in the near future.
